| Several of the major airlines have instituted new fees to “revalidate” electronic tickets. When a change to a ticketed reservation does not require that a new ticket be issued, an airline must revalidate or update a traveler’s ticket to synchronize their record. If not, a traveler cannot print boarding passes, check-in at airport kiosks, etc. Typically, tickets that can be revalidated are fully changeable and fully refundable types of fares.
Airlines used to provide this service at no cost, but several, including United and American, have imposed $10.00 fees. This fee must be paid when the change/revalidation occurs, and is not refundable. Travel-On is still able to assist travelers with this transaction, but will be obliged to provide the airline with the traveler’s credit card number to cover the $10.00 fee.
